Certain life events can affect your Vontier benefits. See what actions to take and what to keep in mind as you navigate life’s changes. If you have a qualifying life event, benefit changes must be made on the bswift website within 45 days.

New child
(birth, adoption, or foster)

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as adding a new child to your family, you have 45 days to make benefits changes related to your event. Visit the bswift website or call 1-833-983-1215 to adjust your benefits coverage.

Getting Married
(or new domestic partnership)

Getting divorced
(or legally separated/ending a partnership)

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as getting divorced, you have 45 days to make benefits changes related to your event. Visit the bswift website or call 1-833-983-1215 to adjust your benefits coverage.

Death in the family

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as a death in your family, you have 45 days to make benefits changes related to your event. Visit the bswift website or call 1-833-983-1215 to adjust your benefits coverage.

Change in work status
(e.g., to part-time or full-time, union to non-union)

Loss or gain of benefit coverage
(you or a dependent)

This is a qualified life event. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as gaining or losing other benefits coverage, you have 45 days to make benefits changes related to your event. Visit the bswift website or call 1-833-983-1215 to adjust your benefits coverage.

Moving
  • Update your personal information in Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Change your benefits, if necessary due to living in a different coverage area, within 45 days of your move.
  • If you have coverage through Vontier, visit your medical plan’s website benefit plans' websites to find health care providers in your new location: Medical: UnitedHealthcare; Dental: Cigna Dental; Vision: VSP.
  • Update your state tax withholding information, if necessary, in Ceridian Dayforce.

This may be a qualified life event, if you are moving to or from a location where different medical plans are available. When you experience a qualifying life event, such as moving your residence, you have 45 days to make benefits changes related to your event. Visit the bswift website or call 1-833-983-1215 to adjust your benefits coverage.

Leaving the company
  • Notify your manager both verbally and in writing.
  • Return all company property.
  • Review the Benefits Termination Guide
  • Make decisions about your ongoing benefits coverage. You can expect to receive COBRA information mailed to you at home after your benefits coverage ends.
  • Convert supplemental life insurance to individual policy, if desired.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You will have access to the program through the end of the month in which you terminate your employment with Vontier.
  • Determine eligibility for unused vacation pay.
  • Contact your retirement plan administrator to learn about your options.

This is a qualified life event. After you’ve left the company and are no longer eligible for Vontier benefits, you are eligible to enroll in other coverage, such as COBRA coverage or your spouse’s benefits. If you are married, ask your spouse’s employer for their enrollment process and deadline.

Getting ready for retirement
  • Notify your manager.
  • Learn about your options for receiving Social Security benefits, if eligible.
  • Apply for Medicare, if eligible.
  • Decide when and how to access retirement savings.
  • Convert supplemental life insurance to individual policy, if desired. Visit the Securian website for more information.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Confirm your final paycheck date with your local Human Resources representative.

This is a qualified life event. After you’ve retired, you may be eligible for Medicare and/or Social Security benefits. Learn more on the Social Security website. You may also have the option of enrolling in COBRA coverage or your spouse’s benefits. Ask your spouse’s employer for their enrollment process and deadline.

Serious illness

This is not a qualified life event. You are not able to change your benefits coverage due to this event.

Leave of absence

This is not a qualified life event. You are not able to change your benefits coverage due to this event.

Injury at work
  • Notify your manager immediately.
  • To report a Workers’ Compensation Insurance claim, call Sedgwick at 855-937-1399 or email them at 9486Vontier@sedgwick.com. If you live in Ohio, Wyoming, Washington, or North Dakota, contact your OpCo HR and/or EHS for additional information.
  • Review the company’s disability and leave of absence policies.
  • Call 1-833-983-1215 if you have any questions about your health benefits.
  • Talk to your manager about time off options.
  • Access free, confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
